President Obama to Visit Cuba in March
We were there on December 17, 2014, when President Obama and Cuban leader, Raul Castro, announced a normalizing of diplomatic relations between our two countries. I was leading a workshop on the island and we watched the announcement on television in a Cuban’s home, and celebrated later with Cubans in the city of Trinidad.
We will be there again on March 21 when another historic event takes place: President Obama will be the first U.S. President to visit Cuba in 88 years (Jimmy Carter visited at the invitation of Fidel Castro in 2011, but he was no longer President).
Events are rapidly changing in Cuba. The Cuba I saw this past December is not the one I saw earlier in the year, and I anticipate it will not be the same after this March. Read my in-depth analysis, President Obama announces plans to visit Cuba in March 2016. Then travel with me to Cuba.
